Effluent treatment
Every industry's wastewater is different. We design ETPs around what's actually in your effluent, so the treated water meets the limits in your consent, or is clean enough to reuse.
Overview
An effluent treatment plant removes the pollutants your process puts into water: suspended solids, oil and grease, colour, chemicals and organic load (BOD and COD).
The right design depends on your effluent and its volume. We start by characterising your wastewater, then combine physical, chemical and biological stages to treat it.
The treatment train
Screening, oil and grease removal and an equalisation tank even out the flow and strength of the effluent.
Dosing, flocculation and clarification remove suspended solids, colour and some chemicals.
Microorganisms break down the organic load, in systems such as activated sludge or MBBR.
Filtration polishes the water for discharge or reuse, and the sludge is dewatered for disposal.

Questions
If your unit discharges industrial wastewater, your consent from the state pollution control board will usually set limits it has to meet, and an ETP is how you meet them. Check your consent to operate, or ask us.
Often, yes. With tertiary treatment, and RO where needed, treated effluent can be reused for cooling, gardening or process water, which also cuts what you discharge.
Send us your water analysis and how much water you need each day, and we'll size a plant for you.
